7 Things You Can Do Right Now to Improve Your Credit Score

Updated: Mar 7, 2023

  1. Obtain Your Credit Report

You can obtain a free credit report once per year from each of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) or you can monitor your credit monthly with our credit monitoring service. Review your report for errors or inaccuracies.

If there are errors, dispute them with the credit bureau reporting the error (we can do this for you).

Payment history is one of the most significant factors affecting your credit score.

High levels of debt can hurt your credit score. Consider paying down your debt over time, starting with high-interest accounts.

Limit new applications and only apply for credit when you need it.

Apply for a secured credit card or become an authorized user on someone else's account to start building credit.

Work with us to help you develop a plan to improve your credit.
